Beauty Remedy for Bright Eyes
There are various reasons why you get dark circles under the eyes. Here are some common reasons:
Genetic, smoking, medication, sun damage, food allergies, nasal congestion, dehydration, fluid retention, iron deficiency, lack of restful sleep and stress. More serious problems could be due to poor adrenal and kidneys functions.
Knowing the cause then, avoid/prevent wherever possible. E.g. Stop smoking, stay out of the sun, get enough sleep and practice stress management.
The short-term and long-term help would be to drink PLENTY of water (about 2-3 liters of water daily) and eat PLENTY of fruits and vegetables, especially vegetables if you are anemic.
Try this juice recipe which might be helpful in providing the necessary nutrients for reducing the dark circles:
- 2 green apples
- 3-4 leaves of kale or any other green vegetables
- 1 cucumber
- 5-6 stalks asparagus
- 1 cup of parsley
- 1/4 lemon
Extra Tip:
Cut two rings of cucumber and place it carefully under your eyes and over the dark circles for 20 minutes every day for two weeks or until you see result.

Age Defying Drink
Tomatoes contain the age-defying phytonutrient, lycopene — the natural pigment that makes tomatoes red — with highest levels found in processed or cooked tomatoes used in ketchup, paste, soup and juice.
Tomato is a skin food suitable for healing from internal or externally. Its rich vitamin A and C make it helpful for anti-aging skin, skin imperfections and brighten up a dull complexion.
Caution:
If you suffer from gout, do refrain from eating tomatoes as they contain purine which may aggravate your condition.
Recipe:
- 1 small cucumber
- 3 tomatoes
- Stir in a pinch of salt

No More Sinus
Nasal congestions brought on by sinusitis can easily be alleviated by drinking fresh juices, and making some diet adjustments.
Reduce: Animal product.
Avoid: Dairy, sugar and flour products, processed/refined foods and tobacco.
When my daughter was little she used to wake up in the morning, crying because of stuffy nose and unable to breathe. Once I learned about what caused the problem, I began to wean her off dairy products. I made for her my special concoction every day and she quickly recovered from her sinus problems. Once the offending foods are removed from the diet, this juice combo kicks-in real quick and helps to drastically reduce nasal congestion.
For very serious sinusitis, supplementing garlic oil capsules and probiotics are great help for improving the condition. Drinking a glass of water with a pinch of Celtic sea salt before going to bed, can also help to reduce stuffy nose in the morning.
Recipe (makes one portion):
Also very good for improving eyesight.
- 2 carrots
- 2 oranges
- 1 green apple
- A small piece of ginger (optional)

Gout is a disorder that can occur throughout the body. It results from deposits of sodium urate crystals, which accumulate in joints because of high blood levels of uric acid.
The excess uric acid crystallizes over time and often form in cooler parts of the body, such as in joints like the ankle, knee, wrist and elbow. But it most often affects the joints in the feet, especially at the base of the big toe.
Fresh fruit and vegetable juices are best to relieve gout over a period of time, but be careful to avoid asparagus, cauliflower, strawberry, spinach and tomato juices. Also drink PLENTY of water.

- 1/4 lemon
- thumb-sized ginger
Foods to Avoid:
Meat, especially organ meats, fish, peanuts, alcohol, caffeine, tobacco, fried foods, peas, lentils, processed foods, flour and sugar products.

Prevent Varicose Veins
Varicose veins is a sign of poor blood circulation that causes blood congestion that may lead to some of the “valves” in the vein to fail. When these valves fail, blood flow may pool and collect in the veins, causing what looks like varicose veins.

Bunnies Don’t Wear Glasses
Your eyes are the window to the world. It’s important that you take care of them. Eat lots of fruits and veggies! Carrots, loaded with beta carotene, are especially helpful in maintaining healthy eyes. That’s because beta carotene is an anti-oxidant that reduces the risk of eye problems.
My daughter recently complained of short-sightedness. I gave her carrot and orange juice daily for a week and she’s now seen vast improvement with her eye sight. Carrots are so mild and versatile and can be mixed with ANY juice.
Another case was with my mother (late 60s). Although she has a Nutritional Consultant (me!) as her daughter, she sometimes insists on eating recklessly. Once she ate a big plate of deep-fried foods and immediately her vision became blurry. (Yes, deep-fried foods have a negative effect on your vision). When she complained this to me, I made her a glass of my not-so-secret recipe for her for the next few days. Her eyesight was restored.
Recipe:
- 2 carrots
- 2 oranges
- Mix together
